False Pride??!!!??!!!

If I haven't already mentioned it, I like to surf orkut and go through random people's profiles. I normally start out from a known person's page and a scrap here a profile there will catch my eye and before I know it il be going through strangers profiles.

Its quite interestin and has kept me entertained for many a time especially during office hours.

Anycase, in all these surfing trips and looking at people's albums I always note that when some Indians go abroad (especially to US) they almost always put up snaps of them visiting popular tourist hotspots. "Me with Lady Liberty", "Grand Majestic Canyon", "Pimpin Las Vegas" (??!!??), "Dancing with the stars in Hollywood", "All golden at SFO" are some of the CORNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY titles I have had the misfortune of reading...

My whole deal is how come the same ppl who have lived all their lives in India never put up photos of them visitin touristy places here. It would be nice to see pics like "Wahh!! Taj Mahal", "Kanyas at Kanyakumari", "Pimpin in Ranganathan Street (which makes more sense considerin all the men on ranganathan street are pimps and SOBs), "Bhangra in Agra" , or some equally cheesy titles (Sorry - Im not too good at comin up with titles).

Also, its ridiculous when all these US returns talk abt "grocery shoppin" and doin "laundry" like its some big exciting event. My very close friend who just recently went to US to study sent me this huge ass mail abt how she has to do grocery shoppin and laundry every weekend...Im like...dude....I dont tell u everytime I go to Maami Kadai or Foodworld and give 3 pants and 2 shirts to dhobi..why the fuck are u tellin me all of this...

My cousin who's lived her entire life there tells me there's a term for Indians who come to US to study or work. They are called FOBs. (Fresh off the Boat). And while I hate her for sayin it...in a way I guess you can't really blame her!!

Things I will do before I kick the bucket..........

Saw this on a blog I read quite regularly...got me thinkin as to wat all I would like to do / accomplish before I pop...so here goes...(sorry KK if i stole some of ur thunder)...

In no particular order....

1. LOSE WEIGHT.....become thin and wear all kinds of slutty clothes ;)
2. Have 3 kids...if god willing I would like to have twins..also would love to adopt one child
3. Learn how to ski & surf..i think both these sports are ultra cool
4. Tell my boss she a cow but mostly a bitch...a bowtch if u may ;)
5. Now this has been an allpai aasai of mine since I was in the 12th and we used to hang out in the beach all the time..my best friend thinks im crazy...but still...I want to snatch some kadalai from the cart and run... :)
6. Run on the streets of Chennai and not give a dam who's lookin
7. Knee or Kick some asshole in the balls who gropes me on the road / bus / any public place....I dont mind starting off with slapping his face
8. Meet any of one my celeb crushes in person..Win one of those dumb contests where u can have a romantic evening with them...
9. Go on a shoppin spree and splurge an obscene amt of money in a very short while..(My dad thinks I do this everytime I go shopping) Perfumes and Silver Jewellery are top on the list of my fetish(es)!
10. Learn to fly a plane....Im seriously considering this when i get some free time on my hands...started doin my ground research on it too
11. Do another MBA from an Ivy league school....
12. Participate in these couples dance contests..they look like soo much fun
13. Teach my servant's kid to read and write and speak English well...Iv done a bit of it..but not anythin serious
14. Donate my time to some charity...or school for special children. I am seriously contemplating this too and am hopin this can be done in the month of November..if my friend is to be believed
15. Go backpacking in rural India...
16. Do an item number in a Tamil Film...heheee (I know this is a non starter but there's no harm in wanting it right)
17. Buy my parents one of those "around the world in 80days" kind of packages
18. Have a makeover by a professional artist...like the kinds who come on Oprah :)
19. Become one of those fitness enthusiasts..who make it a point to work out regularly and watch wat they eat...sighhh...id give anythin to be like that...but im a big time foodie and a lazy ass (the worst combination)
20. and last but not the least....get absolutely hammered...go and tell every person I know wat exactly I think of them (both good and bad) and not worry abt the consequences :)

This is fun...I can go on forever...but I think Il stop here for now...

Work wise August was a killer for me..and September (even though half over) looks as depressing as ever....without soundin much like a drama queen...i really do need a break,...and October promises to provide me just that....so in the meantime..il grit my teeth and see September through...

Im off to sunny Kerala on fri mornin..can't wait....wat originally started off as a special 30 year anniversary gift for just my mom and dad... now includes me and my 3 beshtu friends also..;)

We're plannin to sneak a bottle through so we can spice up our trip even more :) ...i bought a bottle of tequilla in duty free on my way back from my trip...so pray we don't get caught..both at the airport for smugglin the bottle through and more importantly by my parents ;)
