Sadness

And...the horrendous Wait is over.

Mr. Krishnan Govindachari (83 years) attained acharya thiruvedi on Sunday. He was a loving, caring, and deeply religious man! He was extremely affectionate to all his grandchildren (though I knew he secretly preferred his 2 grandsons over the 4 granddaughters) :) We had a special bond...and knowing the man he was I'm sure he had one with all my cousins!!!

He (together with my patti) only named me. He used to call me Amirthu, and I, Thathu.

In the initial draft of this post, I had summarised all my special memories of / with him..But at the time of publishing...I realised...my memories are all I have left of him..and I want it to remain like that...with me.

PS - It killed me to write about him in the past tense!!! :(

My condolences, Fi. May he R.I.P...

Btw, it is true - you *ARE* my alter ego. I was *this* close to writing about my grandfather in my latest blog post tonight...
I think some day I would love to be a grandpa - the kind who spoils their grandkids, yet educates them, plays scrabble with them for hours and then buys them lots of fun books to read.
Thathas rock!!!

hey i'm really sorry to hear about this, I can imagine now why waiting was so hard!

all my grandparents died when i was really young, so i have never known what it is like to have grandparents! Though one aunt of mine is much older than me and almost like a grandma

I am sorry for your loss. As they say, time is a great healer. The pain will ease out and only great memories will remain.
Probably wrong post to say this, but you have a rocking blog going on here!!
Will drop by more often:-)

growing up with grandparents we become more close to them and when they age they become kids again... the loss is irreplaceable but the memories remain forever ...
